# Not One More vs QuitSure

## TL;DR

- QuitSure, on the App Store since 2020, offers six-day and six-week programmes that aim to remove your desire to smoke before your quit day, so that, in its words, you quit without cravings, withdrawal or willpower. You keep smoking during the programme. It is rated 4.79 from around 1,500 US ratings and has published a study of its users in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Not One More starts from the opposite assumption: the craving will come, it lasts a few minutes, and what you need is something to do in them. A two-minute Hit, reps counted by your phone, and a headline number, cravings beaten, that never resets.
- These are opposite theories of quitting. If you believe the desire can be dismantled in advance, QuitSure is built for that. If you have tried that and the craving came anyway, Not One More is built for the craving.
- Both are behavioural tools. Neither is nicotine replacement. Both work alongside patches or gum.

## What QuitSure does

QuitSure describes itself as a modern, enjoyable, no-guilt approach. Its programmes, six days or six weeks, work on the desire to smoke rather than on the act: you keep smoking during the programme, with no pressure to stop, and the aim is that by the time you reach your quit day the desire has gone and you quit without cravings, withdrawal or willpower. The approach is closer to the "easy way" tradition than to a tracker.

It is rated 4.79 from 1,551 US ratings as of 6 September 2026, free to download with in-app purchases, and updated in the last month. QuitSure also cites a 2024 study of its users in JMIR Human Factors, which is more than most apps in the category can say, and it is worth reading for what it does and does not measure.

## What Not One More does

Not One More is an iPhone app for getting through one nicotine craving, whether from a vape, a pouch or a cigarette, in about two minutes: guided breathing, then ten squats or a thirty-second hold counted by the phone's motion sensor, then watching the craving curve fall. Then one question, still want it, answered honestly.

The headline number is cravings beaten. It only goes up. A slip is logged in one tap and never resets anything. It makes no promise about the desire going away. It promises something to do when it arrives.

It is new, iPhone only, and has no ratings yet. Free for three days, then a subscription, with the price shown in the app before you confirm.

## The real difference: whether the craving is expected

This is the clearest philosophical split in the category, and it is worth being plain about it.

QuitSure's premise is that cravings come from the desire to smoke, and that the desire can be taken apart in advance, so that quitting becomes something you simply do. If that works for you, it is the better deal by far: no cravings to get through means nothing to get through.

Not One More's premise is that the craving is a wave lasting a few minutes, tied to the moments you have paired with nicotine, and that it will keep arriving at those moments for weeks whatever you believe about it. What changes the outcome is what you do in the few minutes. Short, hard effort and slow breathing are the two things known to act on a craving without medication, and the app is built around doing them, every time, and counting the times.

One approach tries to make the moment not happen. The other assumes it will and equips you for it. Some people are helped by the first and never need the second. Some people have tried the first, found the craving came anyway, and need the second. Only you know which you are.

## Where QuitSure is the better choice

- You want a programme with a start and an end, and a method that works on your beliefs about smoking rather than on your behaviour in the moment.
- The idea of quitting without cravings appeals to you and you have not tried that route before.
- You want a company that has published research on its own users.
- You are on Android. Not One More is iPhone only.

## Where Not One More is the better choice

- You have tried the "no cravings" route and the cravings came anyway.
- You want a tool for the moment, not a course to complete.
- You vape or use nicotine pouches and want an app built for that from the start.
- You crave at work, in public, in a meeting, and need the discreet option chosen in the moment.
- You want the reps verified by the phone and a number that a slip cannot reset.

## Questions

### Does QuitSure really remove cravings?

That is QuitSure's claim, and its study is the place to test it. Not One More makes the opposite assumption and no claim about removing anything: it says a craving lasts a few minutes and gives you something to do in them. Neither app is a medical device and neither claims to treat addiction.

### Can I do a QuitSure programme and use Not One More?

There is nothing stopping you. QuitSure works on the run-up to a quit day; Not One More works on the cravings after it. If the programme leaves you with no cravings, you will not need the second app. If it leaves you with some, that is what the second app is for.

### Does QuitSure work for vaping?

QuitSure's App Store name includes vaping, and its programme is about the desire rather than the product. Not One More was built for vaping, pouches and cigarettes from the start, with the units and money in your terms and a discreet option for cravings in public.

### Can I use either with nicotine replacement?

Yes. Neither app is nicotine replacement and neither replaces it. If a pharmacist recommended patches, gum or lozenges, keep using them with either app.
